Passport Requirements

All visitors to the United Kingdom must hold a valid passport. Your passport should be valid for the entire duration of your intended stay. While the UK does not officially require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date, it is strongly recommended.

If your passport was issued more than 10 years ago (for adults) or more than 5 years ago (for children), you should renew it before travelling, even if it technically hasn't expired.

Customs Regulations

You can bring 200 cigarettes, 100 cigarillos, 50 cigars, or 250g of tobacco into the UK duty-free. These allowances are halved if you arrive from non-EU countries.

You may bring 4 litres of still wine, 16 litres of beer, plus 1 litre of spirits/liquor (over 22% ABV) or 2 litres of fortified/sparkling wine or other drinks under 22% ABV.

You must declare cash of £10,000 or more (or equivalent in other currencies). This includes notes, coins, traveller's cheques, and some other monetary instruments.

Strict restrictions apply on meat, dairy, and plant products from outside the EU. Most personal foodstuffs are limited. Check the UK government website for specific restrictions.

Prohibited items include controlled drugs, offensive weapons (knives with blades over 3 inches in public), certain firearms, counterfeit goods, and endangered animal products.

You can bring goods worth up to £390 as gifts without paying customs duties. This allowance covers personal gifts and souvenirs you're bringing into the UK.
